Maeve turned 3 on Monday. How is time going so fast? She’s been my little barnacle since day one and gradually over the past few weeks she’s getting more and more independent.

We kicked off the celebrations on her birthday eve as that was George’s day off. He makes a point to request the girls’ birthdays off – there is no greater gift than time – but his work was not able to accommodate that request this year.
Maeve has been very interested in horses since winning the cutest cowgirl competition at Middletown Days last month.

So off we went in search of horses. We settled on Howarth Park in Santa Rosa. We had fun there about 3 years ago with Ellie. We enjoyed a picnic, petting farm animals and rides on horses, the carousel and train. There are also some fun play structures there.

The next day – Maeve’s actual birthday – the girls and I set off to The Grove in nearby Hidden Valley. The girls have had a lot of fun playing at this indoor play place. It’s been a great way to escape the heat.

We followed with a trip to Hardesters for balloons.

The post office.

Then popcorn and Maeve’s movie pick – Frozen II. The girls put on their Elsa dresses and got comfy.

After, we enjoyed a trip to the campground creek.

Maeve requested tacos for dinner with our favorite “refried” beans. George got home just in time for cake and presents before bed. It was a fun 2 days celebrating Maeve. Happy 3rd birthday, sweetheart!
