Back in the Sac Area

Our last week in Petaluma sure went quickly. We managed to pack in some fun at the KOA and downtown. The girls had been wanting to try the gem panning at the park. Ellie also had been asking to have her hair cut. She’d seen Lions & Tigers & Hair during some of our previous… Continue reading Back in the Sac Area

Halloweening 2.0

We enjoyed another weekend full of Halloween fun here at the KOA before the rain moved in…and we move out. Maeve was feeling a bit under the weather with a cold, so she stayed behind with George for some of the daytime activities to rest. He has been in a chronic sleep deficit, working crazy… Continue reading Halloweening 2.0

Halloween

This KOA really does it up for Halloween and offers multiple events every weekend in October. The girls hit nearly every event last Saturday. Starting with the pumpkin patch. Followed by pumpkin painting. A pumpkin scavenger hunt and face painting. Costume Parade. And the main event – trick or treating. The campground awards one free… Continue reading Halloween

Oroville and Back to School

About one month ago we hit the road to Oroville. A place we’ve been before. This time we opted for the RV park George stayed at during line school rather than the casino we stayed at about 3 years ago. We’re loving all the space to play. There are quite a few other line families… Continue reading Oroville and Back to School

Summer

Summer for Ellie kicked off on June 6th. It was bittersweet as we LOVED Ellie’s teachers through California Virtual Academy. We will really miss having their kind presence, albeit virtually, on weekday mornings. We started the celebrations with a stop at Hardester’s for doughnuts and balloons…some of Ellie’s favorites. Followed by the online end of… Continue reading Summer

Slowing Down in a Small Town

Since our last check in, life took us to Lancaster for ~4 weeks, back to Loomis for 1 week and now here we are in Middletown, CA. Population <2,000, it’s smaller than the town I grew up in in Maine. It’s definitely been an adjustment. Very eye opening, too. We have been primarily bouncing around… Continue reading Slowing Down in a Small Town

Hello Again

We made a short move from Folsom to Loomis at the start of summer 2024. This situates us a wee bit closer to the various yard locations George has been working from. We’re also in the same park as the family we’ve enjoyed traveling with throughout the past several years which has been really nice.… Continue reading Hello Again

Lake Camanche

It’s been several months since our stay at Lake Camanche, but I wanted to share a few pictures and thoughts about our experience. We scrambled during our 30-day maximum stay at Cal Expo RV Park to find our next stop. Between our fellow traveling line family and us we must have made close to 100… Continue reading Lake Camanche

Road Trip Tips

In the past few months, Ellie and I have logged a lot of miles together. In July, we drove from Sarasota, FL to Lake George, NY. Just shy of two months later, we drove from Lake George, NY to Sacramento, CA. In both cases, George did his thing focusing on finding truck stops and we… Continue reading Road Trip Tips

Lake George

Lake George, NY.

What a special summer we had in Lake George, NY. While the best part was being close enough to visit family in nearby Maine, we really did like the area. We stayed at beautiful Ledgeview RV Park. It is by far our favorite yet. It offers mountain views, large sites and beautiful facilities. The park… Continue reading Lake George
