Halloween

This KOA really does it up for Halloween and offers multiple events every weekend in October. The girls hit nearly every event last Saturday.

Starting with the pumpkin patch.

Followed by pumpkin painting.

A pumpkin scavenger hunt and face painting.

Costume Parade.

And the main event – trick or treating.

The campground awards one free night’s stay to the best decorated campsite each weekend, so many of the sites were decked out.

On Sunday the girls made tie dye t-shirts, which was another activity offered by the park. Knowing it was one of our last weekends by the ocean, we decided to head to the beach for sunset.

It was a beautiful, warm day in Petaluma without a cloud in the sky. So surely it would be a perfect night to catch a California sunset… We were greeted with thick fog once we were within one mile of Dillon Beach. George and I just laughed as the girls asked us what was going on. Despite the drastic weather change and no hope of seeing the sun set, we had a blast walking, running and splashing along the beach.

We sure are grateful we’ve had a chance to experience this area. We have one last week left to soak it in before we head back toward the Sierras.
